Jonas Charles (b. 2002) began playing drums at the age of five at a local music school near Caen. Initially studying percussion, he decided to devote himself to jazz when he discovered jam sessions at "L'Eden Jazz Club" the iconic Normandy jazz venue where Bud Powell played in 1963/1964! There, he played with many musicians such as Rodolphe Lauretta, Franck Amsallem and Eric Paillhé!

He continued his training at the Conservatoire de Caen with Thierry Lhiver, then went on to study at the C.R.R de Paris, entering the CNSMDP in February 2025. He has performed alongside such great musicians as Hervé Sellin, Yoni Zelnik, David Sauzay and many others. In 2023, he joined the “Barbery” group made up of Emmanuel Duprey, Yvan Réchard and Loïc Rechard.

He is currently working on his first album !

Jonas Charles (né en 2002) commence la batterie à l'âge de cinq ans dans une école de musique communale près de Caen. d'abord étudiant en percussions il décide de se consacrer au jazz lorsqu'il découvre les jams sessions à L'eden Jazz Club, lieu émblématique du jazz normand où bud powell a joué en 1963/1964  ! Là-bas, il joue avec de nombreux musiciens tels que Rodolphe Lauretta, Franck Amsallem ou Eric Paillhé !
